A concept to tackle the most common user pain point across the web - passwords.
Product concept, UI/UX design.
A conceptual brief to solve the most common pain point when using digital services. Passwords have been around for ages and still use the old technology of random encrypted numbers and letters. I wanted to change that.
To create a proposal for this challenge I’ve looked into what other ways passwords are being substituted at the moment. Researched current technologies that could help integrate the new proposal and tried to tailor user experience so that it is simple yet ticks all the technical requirements.
This resulted in a proposal based on Google Firebase authentication, but instead of logging in with your Facebook or Google account a user would log in with a biometric scan of your face. Each scan would be unique as you would require to mimic a certain emoji creating a shared secret between the API and the user, which in turn allows for more simple camera technology to be used. Every sign up would require a two-step verification to be completed within the proposed Google Sphere app which in turn would create a profile for that website and link it to the API next time you want to log in.
Looking into the exact problem that passwords cause, both to users and generally as a technology.
Critique of the initial proposal - some of the proposed elements were not realistic at all or caused more confusion for the user. So I tried to simplify it and create something that is truly universal.
You made it :)
